Q: The in-built VGA card didn't work, so, I installed a new AGP card( nvidia GeForce fx5200). While turning on the computer in normal mood it shows" the windows is starting" but disappear after a while but in safe mood as well as in VGA mood, it starts properly. Can u fix the problem?
A: Hi Rikki That is a video issue. Once you boot in safe mode, re-install your video driver from the CD that came with that card . Don't rely on Windows plug and pray stuff. That is only a driver issue. Also, once in safe mode, go to control panel and into System Hardware and see if the secondary monitor is disabled. If not, disable it as this often causes window to look for a second monitor. nost new cards come like that now.
