Q: I'm looking to buy or possibly build a computer that will be used primarily for recording music (at home) and surfing the internet. I'm not sure what the requirements are if I buy one nor if I build one. For the music recording I will be using Cubase and possibly Reason, if that helps any. I need as many details as possible, please. Thanks in advance!
A: I'd build a computer because it's cheaper and tailor made for what you need. I have no experience with Cubase or Reason. If you want good quality recording with a PC you'll need a fairly good sound card. Google cards made by M-Audio, E-MU & MOTU (there are others too) and get one that's compatible with the operating system and software you'll be using. A second hand card might be the go. If sound quality isn't too important then pretty much any sound card will do.
