Q: I wanna make a backup of my pc and I don't really know about this!! Secondly, when we backup our data, does all installed softwares are again installed as they were before the lost of data? plz help.....thanx!!
A: 1. you will need a free partition or hard disk separate from your os partition to do a backup 2. there are two main commercial software entities that are used for this: Norton Ghost and Acronis Truimage 3. there are a number of free alternatves http://www.techsupportalert.com/best-free-drive-imaging-program.htm 4. what these programs will do is make an 'image' of your hard drive, compress it, and store it on a separate drive or partition. These backups can be made 'incrementally' with some programs, only duplicating new or changed files after the initial backup is made. The result is that you then have a 'staggered' backup (like system restore but that everything on your hard drive will revert to exactly how it was when the backup was run).
