Q: I'm saving up to buy the HP Touchsmart IQ504 in a couple of months. Before I do, I want to make sure that Vista will run all my programs. First things first, do you strongly NOT recommend this computer? Any reasons why? Second of all, will Vista run: Aim 6.8? Mozilla Firefox? Winamp? And anything else I should know about Vista or the Touchsmart in general. Thanks!
A: Yes all of those programs will work on Vista. I do not use AIM so I can not confirm this for you, but the requirements are "Windows 2000 or higher" meaning ... Vista should work. Firefox 3 was actually designed with Vista in mind, I mean look at the design of it. Winamp, while not Vista certified yet, does work, with some minor bugs. The Winamp team is due to release a new version though which will surely be Vista certified.
