XP on a compaq computer with a dell disc?

Q: ok, i need help. my brother thought that if he used my Dell Dimension XP disc on his Compaq Presario, he'd be able to reformat his computer, and it worked almost the way he wanted it to. i had to go in and download a video driver for it, but now we found out his sound card has no driver and is not detected. my friend has a Compaq Presario as well, but he still has the original installation, and i was wondering if i could just use a jump drive or something along those lines to transfer all of his system files to my brothers computer. if not, is there anywhere i can get a Compaq Presario XP installation CD? i tried the drivers, the site doesnt have them. his computer has a fully working internet connection, and every time i would try to install the drivers we'd get something about a microsoft UAA and when i tried to install that it said "no sound hardware to work with" what the heck did i just say? EVERYONE ELSE: THE COMPAQ WEBSITE DOES NOT HAVE THE DRIVERS WE ARE LOOKING FOR! man, people cant read. someone please, i dont want another solution i want to know if the one i had in mind will work!

A: If you install and run DriverMax at http://www.drivermax.com/, it will scan your system and allow you to download the latest drivers for every component, including the sound card. It's a kind of complicated program, but once running all you do is find where it says "scan and update drivers" or something like that and then it will open a webpage which shows a list of drivers for each of your components and find the one for the sound card, click the little download floppy image, open it with Drivermax, wait for it to download, which may take some time, and then click on it and click install and then click install again on the window that pops up, confirm, and then wait while it installs, which won't take but a minute.
