Q: I have an old game called 'Guimo' if anyone has hear of it. I'm trying to install it on my xp computer, but is says error on cd. But on another xp computer it says something on the line of 'cannot install on dos' Please help
A: Is it a DOS game or a Windows game? Well either way here are some tips. I still play even my classic dos games in Win XP, on Vista, and in Linux using a program called DOSBOX. It is a very easy to use program that emulates dos and you can control the PC's speed in the window having it emulate from a 486 all the way to a Pentium 3 with no problems. If that doesn't work there is also a program called ScummVM that I have use to get windows based programs requiring DOS (Such as XCom: UFO Defense) to work. Same thing it is pretty simple to use. Last but not least I would even try going to my computer > right click the CD rom drive and say Explore > right click the Setup.exe or Install.exe file and choose properties > Go to the tab that says Compatability > Change it to Windows 98 and click Ok then run the setup file. I had to do this to get Fallout (the first one a 98 game) to run in XP. Runs with no flaws.
