Q: I was wondering, I heard iMacs cant get viruses, how is that, and I also want to hear your opinion, are apple computers or windows computers (i think they're called) better.
A: Macs at present cannot get any viruses, because there are no released MacOs X viruses. There are over 120,000 Windows viruses, and it is estimated there will be over a million in 2 years. There are 3 known MacOs X malwares/trojans. They do not spread by themselves, you have to be duped into putting them on your Mac. You have to visit the website, agree to download them, agree to install them and put your password in twice. One is a fake Mac Poker game, one is a fake Mac viewer for porn, one is a fake Mac anti-virus. It is more difficult to write viruses for Macs and since 90% of the computers in the USA are Windows, might as well write one for a Windows computer to get the biggest impact. There are estimates that one million Windows computers are "bots", used to send porn & spam email. There are no Mac "bots".
