Q: Recently bought a computer off a friend (it's about 2 years old now) and it has 2 Drives, a 68GB C Drive and a 6GB D Drive. For some reason, he had all the Windows system files on the smaller D Drive. I was planning on copying all the files from D to the C Drive, then planning to merge the two partitions into 1 single Drive. Only thing is, I'm not sure how to go about it. I know that some system files won't copy because they're in use, so is there a way for me to merge the 2 drives together, leaving the files where they are, and having a full 70+GB C Drive? Thanks to anyone who answers.
A: the D drive is simply a RECOVERY partition alowing you to reinstall windows if anything goes wrong hmm there must be somthing to trigger it, or maybe windows pops up telling you to make recovery cds? i reccomend keep the partition as a safty messure so you can fix your computer if somthing goes wrong or if you realy want to get rid of it download http://partitionlogic.org.uk/download/index.html then follow these steps 1# download power iso http://www.poweriso.com/ and install it 2# now open the partition logic zip file you downloaded now you should see a file with a gold disc icon 3# double click this and you should see a bunch of files 4# nnow insert a blank dvd R into drive and click burn located near top left 5# you cd drive will appear now click write to write the software to DVD 6# once done insert the dvd into your computer and simpy reboot it and it should say hit any key to boot from cd..... press any key 7# locate your D partiton and you should be able to delete it your 6gb will now join your main partition makeing it bigger :D
