Q: how would i make it a quad core? is it even possible? whats the maximum amount of video cards and hard drives could i have in the computer? is it possible to have triple nvidia 8800 gtx cards? and where would i buy top of the line hardrives and motherboards? im making it for gaming
A: when you make ur pc, you can select the processor. the processor will be either quad core, dual core, or single core. ehh... except high end pcs dont use single core processors so you can forget about that. maximum amount of graphics cards depends. for ati graphics cards, you can have 4 if your motherboard supports it. for nvidia, some graphics cards are 3, some are 2. you can have as many hard drives as your motherboard or case allows. so far, the most i've seen is 10. i think most cases only come with around 5 hard drives slots tho it is possible to have 8800GTX is tri sli, which is 3 cards. but the 8800GTX is crap now. its old and it was king. now its crap. the new king is the GTX 280, which can also be used in tri sli. or you can go with amd and have 4870x2's in quadfire buy em at newegg you probably shouldnt get a mac. why? because the upgrades are frickin stupid. 500 bucks for another 2 gig of ram? HELL NAW. i can buy 4 gigs of ram for like 80 bucks at newegg and add em in myself. seriously, you cannot get a good high end mac without overspending dont buy extremely high end gaming machines from any company. they overcharge by like 300 bucks minimum
