Q: Hi, i would like some idea for a gaming computer. i need: monitor and the case HD mobo video card ram (ddr2 533) ect. also need an operating system. i have about $650 to 750 tops. any ideas? Thanx
A: build it yourself. the monitor is going to run you ~$200. you can get fairly good but older model parts for cheap. the os is at least $90. that is half your budget... go with a dual core amd or intel cpu but dont spend more than 60 or 70 on it. it wont be a fabulous machine but it will be enough. nVidia 8600gt. motherboard will probably end up being a micro-atx form factor. case for 50 or less (preferably substantially less) and make sure that the power supply is enough to supply the parts but dont pay for one that has more power than you will ever need.
