Will a Dell computer tower hook up to a HP Moniter?

Q: I have a dell computer coming and I have a Hp Monitor!

A: In most cases, this pairing will be fine. However, there are some instances where the connections are different. There are two connections for monitors, one called VGA and one called DVI. VGA typically is a blue plug with pins from the monitor to a blue port with holes on the back of the computer. DVI is similar, except it is typically a white plug and port. There are also other visual differences between the two, and you can probably find a picture of the two on Wikipedia. If the computer and monitor don't have matching plug and port, then they cannot be connected. VGA is found on older CRT monitors and some flat-panels. Higher-end flat-panels, especially widescreen ones, have DVI-only connections. On computers, a VGA port is the most common, but higher-end video cards, like higher-end flat-panels, have DVI-only connections.
