Q: Yeah, so ive got a load of memory and a quad core, but my video card is a 8800gts 320mb (g80), the old one, and with nvidias overclocking program i can run crysis on very high no AA and no motion blur, and i get 30-37 fps, why does an oldish video card rock so much, also, if this card can run it maxed just about, how come people with like the 9800gtx or 4870 say it only works on high?? I have a 19 inch monitor at 1280x1024, lol not complaining just curious cause people tell me they can never run it on higher cards but i can run it max with mine
A: While your 8800GTS is good, you other parts are pulling the load. Your CPU, and RAM are doing what work the GPU can't.
