Q: i've been going nuts over my computer for 3 nites now. this has never happened before. the first time, i ended up with my keyboard keys going mad. several suddenly stopped working. (i think i used standby function at that time & unlike usual times where i'd always ended up restarting with te power button, this time it come bak with the mouse) after a while i restarted the comp & all the installed programs refused to work. nero/ acdsee/ etc. nothing worked. even media player would come up but play nothing. after a few clicks all te desktop icons would disappear. the taskmanager was the only thing coming bak.. reinstalling helped some, but then i formated te entire drive & reinstalled windows & all other programs bec i was stil having the program problem, as all i cud see was the tm & wallpaper. i installed Adobe cs3 which had some trojan but then i cleaned that using the antivirus.. my comp is still really slow.. if i click a program it takes really long to open which was fast 2 dys bak. i've also cleared the registry. i've installed 3 different anti viruses to clean anything left (currently only avast working) also the web is giving me problems. the dsl is 1mb but its taking ages for google to open a single command... which was also fine before... my icons stil temporarily vanish but they usually come bak.. but it gets busy if i click 2/3 programs together & then i have to restart because even the task.man doesnt come bak.. i have a p4. wat can be the problem? do i need to reformat & reinstall everything?
A: try to do a system recovery . its very easy if you have a hp pc then the pc returns to its factory shipped condition what you can do is remove all visual styles themes etc keep windows classic as your theme. keep the graphics low dont keep many memory hungry softwares keep one antivirus(avast ot avg) updated , NO external firewall( it makes comp slow) defrag your drive use tune up utilities to do all the cleanup and maintenance also keep ccleaner as a daily cleaning small tool dats it
