Q: i have an old gateway performance tower that came with windows 98 second edition, i have lately put XP on it. i bought another HP computer of the same year or so and i added the HDD and the RAM now when i tried to boot XP the screen would say ultra66 bios not installed and it would go to a blank screen and freeze? anyone have a solution?
A: Yah thats not good. Sounds like the bios chip on the board fried. Which means the mother board is gone. Only thing i can think of unless the hard drive has some utility partition looking for some pre boot bios but 90% of the time this will be a system board issue.
