Q: I just bought all brand new upgrades for my seemingly ancient computer, and upon setting it all up, I realized the front panel's on/off and reset switch didn't have a home on the new motherboard I bought. I've looked everywhere at local computer shops and warehouses (Best Buy, CompUSA, Radio Shack, other computer repair shops) but none of them have anything I can use. Does anyone know of an online store I could get it from? I've looked on TigerDirect and NewEgg but I haven't the slightest clue of what to search to find it. Any help is MUCH appreciated. Thanks! P.S. New specs: Motherboard: Asus M2N-SLI RAM: 4 GB DDR2 HDDs: 1 TB Master, 1 TB Slave GPU: ATI Radeon 3650 PCI-E 1 GB DDR2 Processor: AMD Athlon 64 Dual-Core 6000 3.0 GHz Also, here's a link to the picture of my motherboard. The bottom left-hand white slot is the "Panel" socket. I need the switch to be two-pronged to fit into this. :/ http://www.dcomputer.com/proinfo/productinfopic_big/M2N-E .jpg
A: its there, asus unwisely chose to combine all the connectors. all that has to happen is that you short the plus and minus power switch for a second. if you wire it with solder or foil or tape or whatever, your old switch should work fine. my boss turned on his bare motherboard pc for a while by shorting the pins with a metal screw.
