A: Since you are on a budget--get the 2x1gb. 4gb is needed only for extreme gamers or people working on graphics hungry programs--most of us dont need 4gigs. I have 4gb myself and cant hardly tell the difference since when i had 2gb. Best prices are at--Newegg.com, Pricewatch.com, and Meritline.com. Crucial.com will scan your pc and tell you what kind you need. Do a little research to get the best deal.
