Q: my entire desktop just keeps on disappearing and all there is left is the wallpaper. my icons, the start menu, just vanish i thought it was just my explorer.exe deleting from my task list so i re-input it as a new task on my task manager..but just when the icons and start menu came back they disappeared again, then came back, and then disappeared again...this is getting annoying what do i do??? please help me.. i am a Windows XP Home Edition user if that helps in anyway
A: Definitely sounds like a virus. I would recommend backing up all of your data, then reinstalling Windows. Then immediately install an anti-virus program (there's plenty free ones out there). Then scan all of your backed up files before using them.
