Q: that i bought earlier this year. I have problems with it starting up and shutting down, I managed to get it to do a system fix but its still not working. I need advice from computer experts in what i should do next other than chucking it out, which I feel like doing right now. I have windows vista home premium, I believe I have plenty of memory. When I switch it on I have the black screen and white writing, I have it running now in the start up repair searching for system problems. It does this then it appears to be fixed showing the accounts screen but when I sign in it shuts down then goes back to the black screen then it looks like its ready to try and start up but its taking forever again. I end up switching it off from the powerpoint because it wont log off. I'm sorry, its hard to explain I am working off my windows xp laptop at the moment hey chezzrob, thanks, I know everything is fixable but I'm just a mum not a computer wizz, I have fixed some things but this is beyound me. Its never happend before, only started yesterday.
