Q: I have a custom built computer running XP that is used for some school work, but mainly for a recording studio FL studio, reason, pro tools etc. Current Specs: Pentium D dual core 3.2ghz 1gb pc3200 ram 250gb ide dvd burner agp Geforce 5200 128 mb ram Upgrade for $270(i have to buy a new mobo and btw it doesnt have agp so i cant use my old graphics card) Interl Quad core 2.4ghz 2gb DDR2 667 250gb SATA drive built in Geforce 7050 graphics everything else the same basically a new hard drive and processor(which requires an upgrade in mobo which requires an upgrade in ram) is this worth it? will i see a difference wat if i went for a 2.53 core 2 duo and not quad core
A: For $270, you are basically getting a new computer. I'd say go for it. Faster hard drive by a factor of up to 2, faster memory and more of it. Quad CPU and I'm betting that the specs on the new MOBO will be better too. Basically, it sounds like you are doubling the speed and capacity of everything. Do it man...Just do it! Good Luck.
