i have very low sound on my computer. i have run spybot s&d, norton, lavasoft. what is wrong? dev. mgr. ok

Q: the computer won't let me restore the system. i have 1.0 gb meory and 200gb hard drive. far from full!!!!!! no one i know seems to know what is wrong. did all the troubleshooting and all. please help if you can. the cord is plugged in and teh drivers have been checked but it could be the card, i guess. this happened once before and i just system restored it. it won't let me do that now. if it was my card that wouldn't keep me from being able to restore it would it?????? the restoration has been incomplete ever since this happened. the sounds are coming out of the speakers. it is normal sounds like music, just very low. i went to check the restore site and will try that later. i have to get to bed i have to be up in a few hours for work. thanks for everyone's help and if you think of anything else i can try that would be great. again, thanks!!!!

A: I got it. Cause it happened to me. NOW I remember. You have cheap speakers. I bet if you unplug them from the computer, but still leave them turned on, you'll still hear the noise. If so - it's picking up sound like a mini-radio. You need to throw those away and get new ones. No other way around it. Alternatively - Try opening up Control Panel - Sound, and check the volume levels. You may have one set very low. If you start up in Safe Mode and you still here it, then it's something lose that may be picking up interference. Try resetting the sound card and all the cables involved - I bet that will work. You have way too many anti- things running on the machine. You only need one good firewall, one good anti-virus / anti-spam. The others you only run once in a while to check on the first ones. The noise, however, is probably a fan or your drive. Unless it's a HUM, in which case it's your power supply. And NONE of this should affect the RESTORE ability. I included a link to a great site about restore issues. Try it in safe mode. F8, ya know.
