Q: okay, so i have alot of mb (megabites) or something on my computer, so i was wondering could they break your computer?like what are the negatives in downloading things that have alot of megabites?
A: MB's or Megabyte's is a unit of measurement. It is generally accepted that a Byte is 8 characters. Be they letters or numbers, or symbols. Megabyte? Approximately one million bytes. I 'say' approximate, because it works out to more. The thing you have to watch, is how much stuff you have on your harddrive. Fill the harddrive to more than halfway full, and your computer starts slowing down. You won't realize it at first, but as it fills up past the halfway point, and beyond, you'll tend to notice programs don't operate as fast, going from website to website on the 'net isn't as fast, etc. (Sorry about the Run-on!) To keep your computer running at an optimal speed, you need to clean out the harddrive of unnecessary programs, applications, downloaded stuff you could 'burn' to a disk,( instead of saving it to your harddrive), Temporary Internet Files, Recycle Bin Files, and so on. Direct answer to your first question? No, they won't 'break' your computer. Direct answer to your second question? Burn these large files to a CD disk if you can.
