Q: My desktop doesn't display the icons or the Start Menu toolbar thing. Everything just disappeared. I tried restarting my computer but nothing works. Please help me!! :*(
A: Try this: When your computer boots up, once you get to the point where you're supposed to have your start menu and icons, hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete to open the Task Manager. In the bottom right corner, click on the "New Task" button. Type "explorer" (without the quote marks) and press Enter. That should bring up your start menu etc. Then, open My Computer, and go C:\Windows. Right-click on explorer.exe and copy it. Then right-click on the Start menu and select Open. Go to Programs, Startup, and right-click again in the folder, and select Paste Shortcut. A new icon named Shortcut to Explorer should show up. Now your start menu and icons should appear every time you boot up.
