Q: I have a 50 Gb and 30 Gb hard drive in my computer that are at least 5 years old. They work great. I bought a 500 Gb Seagate hard drive and it crashed six months later. What is the expected life span oftoday'ss hard drives? Could I get a free replacement from Seagate for the failed hard drive?
A: The hard drive shouldn't have failed that early and they will definitely replace it for free because most hd's come with 1 year warranty. Me personally I like western digital all 3 of my computers have there drive and not one failed yet.
