How is HP Service?

Q: I am considering buying an HP desktop directly from HP. Does anyone have experience with the quality of their service, vis a vis wait time, knowledge of the tech staff, and time for resolution? I asked this question earlier today, but only one person commented on getting factory service. I did learn that they seem to have problems with their HDDs. Oh, yeah, and one guy had what seemed to be an unnatural and inappropriate affection for his HP laptop, but that wasn't very helpful. What's your experience with HP service?

A: As a computer engineer, i have dealt with all companies. and from my experiance HP is the worst. while computer is under warrenty any major brand is the same, and no matter whom u deal with u will get someone from phillopeans or india, although dell is starting to change that back to using americans or canadians, anyway. From first hand experiance of dealing with these companies every day, dell is by far the best. esspecialy after the computer is out of warrenty, HP will give u no help what so ever unless u pay them 40 bucks just to answer a simple question, like what driver do i need for a NIC or something simple like that. I would stay only with dell, they arent the prettiest computers but they r best company to deal with.
