sims 2 question?

Q: i have a e machine that i got probably 3 years ago it has a celeron d 80 gb hard drive 25 memory and it says video intel exterem graphic2 3d modem 56k well the point is the sims 2 is super slow what could be wrong? i also get a little bubble that pops up alot and says "virtual memory is low" HELP PLEASE i do have the 256 mb so do you think if i deleted as much stuff as possible on my computer and got a better video card would it work? or what things could change with my computer its a desktop? i dont want to buy another computer because my parents are going to be buyin me a mac book pro for college for graduation

A: Is that a laptop? if so, your video card does not meet the minimum requirements of the game. Sims 2 needs a lot of video memory card 128mb above. Celeron chips have a smaller L2 cache and have the slowest bus speed compare to pentium cpus, which translates into slower processing speeds. That's why Celeron is not recommended for gaming. Sims 2 needs a lot of RAM and Virutal Memory, the minimum requirements is 256mb. About the "Virtual Memory is low" You can set the Virtual memory in: 1. Right Click My Computer and Click Properties 2. Go to Advanced tab 3. Click on "Settings" in Performance 4. Click on Advanced 5. Click the "Change" button 6. And Set the Initial size and Maximum size (mine is IS=1500, MS=3000) then click Ok.
