so my bus speed is 200mhz does that mean 400mhz will not work?

Q: 400mhz ram that is! Thank ivan i'm understanding a bit better now

A: Hello, (ANS) YES! But nobody here has told you or tried to explain to you what the "Local Bus" or "Front Side Bus" actual is or does. BUS or LOCAL BUS also called Front Side Bus:- this is built into the main system board or motherboard of your computer, the bus connects EVERY other computer component to each other i.e. the CPU to the RAM, the Hard disk to the RAM, & the Keyboard & mouse to your display etc. **The speed of the local bus is vital as it is the bus that defines how fast your entire system can work, so if the local bus is say 200hrtz then there really is no point or advantage in purchasing a 400hrtz CPU as it wont run faster than 200hrtz anyway (meaning you have 200hrtz wasted). This is something that many people fail to appreciate and spend lots of money on fancy system that wont perform any better no matter how much RAM or how big the hard disk is. **No! it doesn't mean 400hrtz wont work but it does mean it will ONLY work at 200Hrtz maximum. No matter how you tweak or tune the same system. kind Regards Ivan computer veteran, ex IT professional, MCSE trained, system builder.
