Should I upgrade from XP to Vista on the same drive or another and will it erase my HD if I do it in one HD?

Q: I have Vista read to upgrade, and I'm wondering if I should upgrade my OS on to a separate HD or should I do it on another one. Also, if I choose to upgrade from the same HD will data be erased? Here's what I got: Intel q6600 3.2 ghz OC EVGA 280 GTX SSC EVGA nVidial 790i 2 gb Corsair 1066 DDR3 (4gb Corsair ddr3 1600 Dominators coming) 250GB WD 7200 RPM HD 320GB Seagate Barracuda 7200 RPM HD 750GB Barracuda 7200 HD Currently, my 250GB is empty, my 750 GB is my Data HD and my 320 is where my XP is stored. Which one should I use and if I do upgrade on another HD how do I switch from XP to Vistas 64 or 32? Thanks!

A: you can upgrade to vista on the same drive BUT you need to format the HD. you can Install more than one operating system by using multiboot . this let you know how to use :http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-US/Help/8572be9b-8580-49f7-9719-b3a4c42749fe1033.mspx
