Q: Every time i start up my computer when it is booting up it says "invalid disk please replace and press any key." I have windows 98SE installed and have got a 4 gb harddisk with 128 mb of ram. Is my harddisk fried or is there another way to fix this problem?

Pleeze plenty other categories you can get points in without hurting someone Answer to asker Make sure you do not have a disk in the floppy disk drive or in the CD drive. The message means it cannot find a Boot Sector which is a tiny bit on a hard disk that tells it where to find the rest of the operating system this will NOT go into safe mode either, as the disk is not recognised. If you have a System Rescue floppy disk, put that into the floppy drive, then the machine will start from that. Choose oad with CD support. THen you can put in your Windows CD and put a new boot sector on the disk (at worst, you will need to reinstall the Windows but that is ok it won't hurt anything else on your disk). email me if u got further probs
