Q: for pci express 2.0 x16 say like the 4870 can you use that card on a regular pci express 16 or no? second should i build a computer or upgrade my processer to 3ghz and get a the 4870?
A: yes the 4870 will work in either a pci express x16 or a pci express x16 2.0 if you put it in a 2.0 slot it will be faster. You cannot however, put it in a regualr pci slot or a pci express x1 slot.
