Would someone recommend a graphics card for me?

Q: Could someone recommend a good Nvidea graphics card with ddr1 memory that fits a pci x16 slot? I went to their site but they only check the slot size not the ddr type. fyi its pci x16 gen 1

A: If you mean PCI Express x16, good luck. PCIe-x16 technology is much newer than DDR, so most DDR-only cards are original 32-bit PCI. Go to http://www.newegg.com/Product/PowerSearch.aspx?N=2010380048&SubCategory=48&GASearch=3 and select your criteria for interface, chip manufacturer, and memory type. Only one will show up for you, and it's crap. Solution: Buy GDDR2 or GDDR3. If your motherboard only supports DDR, you can still use GDDR2 video card, since the video RAM is independent of the system RAM. Then again, I don't know of any motherboards with PCIe-x16 that are DDR-only... Anyway, I don't know what your budget or system is like, but the 7600 GT is still a good budget card. If you want to play newer games like Age of Conan or Bioshock, you'll want to look at the 8600 GT at least.
