A: U3, which comes preinstalled on many SanDisk flashdrives, is a way to make a flash drive a 'smart drive'. It is preloaded software. For more info on that you can go to U3.com To uninstall U3 go to http://www.u3.com/uninstall/ To completely erase the flash drive you can simply reformat the drive. The fastest way to do this in Windows is to insert the drive, navigate to My Computer , right click on the drive and say "Format..." The default options should be fine, hit 'Start', and it should erase the drive. *Be aware that this will wipe out any and all data that is already on the drive* As a sidenote, most U3 enabled drives have a U3 symbol on the packaging, and the drive itself. Watch out for it if you ever purchase another drive and don't want to run into U3 again.
