I want to upgrade my video card, currently have onboard video. Want to spend $100 or so, any recommendations?

Q: I have a PCI Express slot, DDR2 SDRAM memory, if that matters. It has to have DVI output (using VGA now to a Samsung LCD, has DVI input) , or HDMI output which I could convert to DVI. Cmon, take the time to respond, it's me b-day. Anything else I need to know before buying the card? There's an empty black slot with "PCI Express" spelled out above it. Does it matter that the video card had GDDR3 type memory if my onboard memory is DDR2?

A: For $120 you can get an 8800GT. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3435454&CatId=3670 That's really the best card that you're going to get in that price range, and it's a solid card for all of today's games. When you start talking about the 8800GTS 512MB, 9800GTX or ATI 4850 and 4870, you're looking at $175-250.
