Q: My cousin got a new vid card for his PC and his little bro was wrying about it messing up PC so he called me and asked. We checked his temp and his idle temp was 81-86C so I told him to turn off the PC cuz playing a game would make it go up to 90+ Am I right?
A: idling at 81-86 is most definitely bad for your card (mine idles at 50) first make sure the fan works. Then turn on your computer and place your hand on top of the card (make sure you touch the case first). If it is truly running at 85 or so, it should be extremely hot. If it doesn't feel very hot, then it might be a misread sensor.
