Q: Should I: 1) - Keep my existing motherboard, using ddr ram and gp graphics card or 2) - buy a new motherboard, using existing hard drive, disk drive, ddr 2 ram and pci-e graphics card but have complications connecting the old ide components. I want to choose option 2 but i would have to lose card readers and other components that I rather like. Any advice? Thanks I also built another pc as my main gaming computer therefore a new motherboard would allow parts from that computer to be used in the future. I forgot to mention that the case is Micro ATX. If it is possible to buy a newer motherboard with ide (for upto 4 devices) and sata connections then that would be ideal. The reason for ide is that i don't want to have 2 buy new hdd and optical drives.
