Q: how much wireless keyboard battery stay alive before start missing letters? and do the keyboard antenna has to be visible to the usb-drive? or just in range?
A: Depends on the maker. My Mircosoft keyboard would go too long. My I had to start checking the batteries every month because i would end up replacing them when the batteries started corroding. If they did die it usually took about 6 mo and im a pretty avid gamer. The mouse on the other hand was about done after a month. If your worried about it get a rechargable one. The reciever needs to be on what is called the same plane for best performance, but my keyboard did pretty well from 3 feet away 4 inches above. The same plane means oriented the same way as the keyboard at the same level... ie the recever end sitting on its feet on your desk with the keyboard on the same desk on its feet would be the same plane. If your looking to buy one go online and read customer reviews from a website that sells them ie newegg.com that will tell you if it is any good.
