A: the 8400gs is slightly more powerful but its probably the closest thing in an nvidia card. To get something evenly matched you would have to go down to the 7x series, which is dx9. Basically the 2400 pro is the lowest end dx10 ati card. Its ok for 2d stuff and gaming with older games, and pretty much useless for any newer gaming. They retail for about $30
