Q: I've been using my computer microphone forever and it always worked, but the other day it stopped working. I figured it must have been the mic itself and not the computer, so I plugged in my friend's mic and that didn't work either. Anyone know whats wrong? Thank you so much Mike!! A: run the following test, goto Start Menu > Control Panel > Sounds and audio devices > Voice tab > (also check volume is turned up from here) next and under voice recording sub menu select test hardware > and follow prompts, this will test all audio coming in via an external source
