Q: I'm basically just wondering if I will need 4 gigs of memory to run the 64 bit version of Windows Vista? I've read that the 64bit Vista only recognizes 3 gigs anyway so will I need the fourth? Edit: I am just using this laptop for basic internet use, music, school projects (excel, access, power point) etc... So I get the impression 3 gigs should be ok for that type of computer use. I was planning on going 32 bit/3 gigs, but when I ordered the computer online I accidentally selected 64 bit instead of 32 bit. HP won't let me change the specs either since they said they already processed my order. I would have to wait until I received the laptop then send it back and exchange it in order to change any specs.
A: Yes, it will be plenty! You probably won't even use 3GB unless you're doing a lot of video editing or other highly RAM intensive projects which your average Vista user does not.
