Q: Ok I bought a Zalman CPU cooler and I used the thermal paste that came with the cooler it self but had to take off the cooler due to a case mod so I went a bought some Artic 5 thermal paste now the CPU is running 1-2 degress C higher is there a better thermal paste you can buy or do have to wait to put the cooler onto the CPU
A: Have you let it go through the "break in period"? Artic Silver 5 has to have a couple of heating and cooling times to work at it's peak. Just wondering also if you have good case cooling the more the better. I have a 120mm front and rear a 92mm side fan blowing onto the CPU fan and a 80mm side blowing on my 4870. Then there is the 120mm exhaust on the power supply with an 80mm out the back... I recieved and email from my motherboard the other day asking if there was a possibility I have insurance for wind damage!
