Q: I want to upgrade my pc with a quad core processor and was wondering if the Q9450 is good value for money. I need to know if it performs well and if it can handle any game an average gamer like me can throw at it.
A: For gaming recomended requirements are: Fast(3.2GHz or faster) dual core CPU 2-4GB DDR2 RAM (PC5300 or faster) High end video card such as ATI 3870 or Nvidia 8800GT or better/newer/faster Right now games only need dual core CPU but if future proofing get the fastest quad core you can find/afford. Same with video card, always buy the fastest/newest card you can afford as both ATI & Nvidia are coming out with new/next generation cards about every 6 months or so.
