Q: Just recently I put all my music files from my computers hard drive to an external hard drive. Now when i try to add more music to my ipod from my external hard drive I can't because my external hard drive disappears when I hook my ipod to the computer. It's as if I can't have both external hard drive and ipod hooked up at the same time, but how else am I supposed to add more music to my ipod?
A: I agree, it's a power issue. If you're plugging these devices into an unpowered USB hub, replace it with a powered hub or plug them directly into the computer. Also, get an AC adapter for the external hard drive if possible.
