Mouse freezes for half a second?

Q: whenever I move my mouse around it'll freeze for a quick second then go back to normal. it happens with both mouses (mice? Idk). I have XP, all the updates except the latest, I think. help? i highly doubt its a virus. oh and my typing is now lagging. it sometimes doesn't show up as soon as i type it. thanks a lot my parent's laptops use wireless. everything else is pretty much wired. optical mouse. everything i have 3gb of ram, and my peak is like 650 mb

A: If this is a wireless keypad and mic unplug the receiver for them, replace the batteries, and reconnect it. If that does not work, there must some software that is using ALOT of resource on your PC. Think back to when the problem started and see if you had installed any new apps. If so uninstall that app, restart and see what happens. Also try to clean out the recycling bin as well as cached files that get stored on to temp folder during web surfing, installing apps, etc... Also, this maybe caused due to windows updates too, which really hard to find out which one caused it. If its wireless keypad and mic, see if can spare and try it out, ir maybe just the keypad and mic defective.
