Q: I run Windows XP and suddenly can't back up my accounting software (can't burn CDs) due to the computer telling me that all my drives are disabled and to contact the system admin (which is me). I never disabled them and nobody else has access to my comp - how do I enable the drives??
A: you have to go to "hardware" in the device manager which is in the control panel. In the contol panel,double click system, then to hardware, then to device manager. go to cd/dvd rom drives, right click on the drives to go to properties, then change the status at the bottom to enable.
