Q: (65 nm process) AMD Turion Ultra ZM 80 (2.0 Ghz, 3600 Mhz FSB, 2 MB cache) VS. (45 nm process) Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 (2.5 Ghz, 1066 Mhz FSB, 6 MB cache) which one is faster, more up to date, and more future-proof? and what advantages does the 45nm processor have over the 65nm processor?
A: 45nm is the size of the leads in the cpu core. so a single wire inside of the cpu is 45 nano-meters wide. 45nm is the newest technology, and allows lower voltages, tighter timings/frequencies (faster) all while running on less watts, and the wattage a CPU uses directly affects its heat output. Also, intel's C2D and C2Q (quad-core) line-ups by far surpass most new-age AMD's right now.
