Q: ok so i am confused about core 2 duo processors, is a core 2 duo processor actually 2 processors or is it just 2 combined? can someone plz fill me in. and what are the benifits of having a core 2 duo processor? coz i have a intel celeron 2.8 ghz processer and i can't run crysis bc u need a 2.2 ghz core 2 duo processor and i'm not sure how it all works, i thort i could run crysis.
A: A Core 2 Duo is one processor with TWO cores. The workload may or may not be shared by the two cores. Many software being produced is designed to use the two cores. If a Core 2 Duo is marked 2.0 GHz- then its speed is not 2.0 GHz. It is also not 4.0 GHz. Rather, it is somewhere in between. But a Core 2 Duo processor is definitely better than a Single core processor such as a celeron (which is not extremely cheap). Core 2 Quads are better still because they have 4 cores.
