Q: Was cleaning outside of computer tower with all components unplugged, put it all back together and the monitor is not getting a signal (actually says no signal) . Monitor works fine on other computer. Removed casing and blew out excess dust - no joy, 1. Does it sound like a motherboard problem? 2. Do all mother boards fit all towers or do you need certain ones? 3. It's an old computer so uses DDR1 RAM gather if I up grade mother board will need to Upgrade RAM? Thanks in advance.
A: Well it might be a motherboard problem. Your motherboard should be able to fit in some cases but not all since all mobo's are different sizes so you should find the one that fits yours. If you do upgrade your motherboard, you will probably have to get new RAM since today's mobo's use DDR2 or DDR3 but if you want to save to money, you can find a mobo that use DDR1 somewhere.
