Q: i had to erase my harddrive .someone gained access to password..now attempting to install my new webcam and keep getting told by installation wizard that install cant be completed because software cant be located..and that maybe it might be later when i am online..i already am online.. i get notified that new hardware found but that a problem occured during install...p s it does not come with an install CD. i guess wizard is supposed to find it online for me? did i possibly erase something when i used wipe drive to clear out the computer...i did use the original CD that came with computer to reinstall programs that were supposed to put the computer back into the original order it was purchased in.. what could be the problem ?? it appears computer is recognizing that new hardware needs install but is not locating software to install... and webcam did not come with any install C D.. help....
A: well the install wizard will only install drivers from microsofts site so if its not finding it then your going to have to go to the computers manufactures site and look up your model and download it and i suggest while your there to just go ahead and get all the latest drivers
