Q: I'm looking for a cheap graphics card that can play most games with a decent resolution (not bothered about texture quality too much though). A: Your 300W PSU really restricts you on your upgrade options and upgrades would be you best defense against obsolescence. PSU upgrade is worth considering. With a 300W PSU, the only significant option you could consider is the 8500GT that draws less than 30 watts. Your 8300GS is an 18 watter. More powerful cards would draw 50W or higher and would definitely stress the +12V rail of your small power supply. Maximum wattage of its +12V rail could be 200W or less. Processor, fans and motor drives also draw from +12V rail of PSU.
