A: Yeah for the slim case you'd need a low-profile graphics card, and most of those are pretty low-end. I don't know if anything better than Radeon 3450 or Geforce 8500 exists in low-profile. Your friend might have been thinking about the Asus XG station (external video adapter for laptops) but it's not available yet. I'm not sure if the interface is USB, anyway.
