Q: My computer ran on board. I had no graphics card to start with, and was playing games like MapleStory, Gunz, and Tremulous fine. After installing though, I noticed that Gunz lags until I wait a certain amount of time and tremulous cannot be solved. I am very unaware of my sudden lag, but I believe the graphics card lagged my computer. Games that my computer was able to handle on board perfectly are now lagging to the point where I only receive 1 frame per second. I have graphics turned down the lowest but the lag still continues. I am running windows XP with the latest drivers installed for my graphics card. My computer is only about 2-3 years old.
A: I would start by saying how old is your computer? You cant just have an old computer and throw a really good Graphics card in but to answer your question. You need Your video cards Drivers to be installed, without them this causes major lag even on the desktop. This link is the link to the Driver's Download Page, I went ahead and found your driver for the GeForce 8500 GT. Download the driver (click save) after its finished downloading Install it and it will have you restart your computer. This should fix your problem. http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_175.19_whql.html
